Hey, it’s my blogiversary! I’ve been blogging for exactly one year now! WOOOOOOOT!
I’ve had such fun writing down my thoughts and experiences, and slowly establishing a small regular readership. When I think about it, it’s rather an odd thing to do: writing stuff and sending it into cyberspace, wondering if and when anybody will read it and perhaps even send some small acknowledging comment back. It really is a bit of a leap of faith to blog, and although I think I’m hooked enough to keep doing it regardless of response, it truly does make my day when I open up my WordPress Dashboard and see that I’ve received a comment from somebody far way.
I don’t think I’m ever saying anything new or exciting, and it’s not that I believe my life to be so much more interesting than anybody else’s. But I know I like reading snippets of other peoples’ lives, mainly because it’s not MY life. It’s only logical that what I write will interest a few other people out there for the same reason. We just have to find each other, and that’s where other blogs come in. Making those blogging connections has been so rewarding, and I owe thanks to the writers of all the other blogs I read (you know who you are!) – for sharing your thoughts on the Intarnets, for the cyber-relationships we’ve developed, for continuing inspiration, and also for the opportunity to check out your blogrolls.

Hi, Happy Birthday to you and your blog! I am one of your readers from far away (only Toronto, but it is far) and enjoy reading your blog. I have only been blogging for 2 months so far, but it is amazing when someone makes a comment, I always think that it is only my family and friends.

Woo! Cake! Happy Blogiversary! It really is great to be able to get a peek into other people’s lives. Having a blog also helps you know what life is like for all different kinds of people and makes you more empathetic, I think.

Jazz – Well, the pink icing was the priority. The decorations are kind of secondary. Tastes great, though!
Hannah – Blogging is a bit like travel that way, isn’t it. But a whole lot cheaper!

Happy bloversary; I must be coming up to mine soon, I’ll have to check. I always wonder why people read my posts as I think they are a bit dull but you are right – I like reading others because they are not me and I actually enjoy the minutiae of other peoples’ lives!
Incidentally I have a cat that is as needy, though not quite as stupid, as your friend’s. Like her I find the constant meowing for attention irritating after a while. I amsure mine only finds her way home because she always follows one of the other two wherever he goes (not the injured one I wrote about recently – I have 3).

Completely Alienne – Thank you for your good wishes. So you’re another one with a dumb cat? I now realize that, contrary to what I used to believe, most cats actually aren’t too bright, that they only appear that way!
